STN Searching
STN stands for Scientific and Technical Information Network International and STN is jointly operated by Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) and FIZ Karlsruhe. STN offers access to 100+ scientific and technical information databases on one integrated platform, with a total of over 1.6 billion records. Through STN information contained on a single database such as CAPlus, DGENE, BIOSIS , EMBASE can be searched.
STN database clusters group together similar database, for example CASLINK, a cluster of STN database contains information from CAPlus, Registry and MARPAT. So, a single search on CASLINK retrieves scientific information contained in the three databases viz. CAPlus, Registry and MARPAT.
Mark IP's search specialists have 10 years of experience in retrieving precise scientific data from STN International. Mark IP's search specialists effectively deal with complex Chemical structure search, Markush structure search, Protein sequence search, Nucleotide sequence search etc. using STN International. They conduct searches on a specific STN database or cluster of databases.

Some of the unique functions of STN include,
• A continuous search history across databases. Answer set numbers are not overwritten when moving between databases, which provides flexibility in cross-file and simultaneous multi-file searching.
• CAplus, REGISTRY, and Derwent World Patent Index databases are all in one system, with multi-file search capability
• Multiple truncation symbols that maximize search term utility.
• Option to automatically search for plurals and abbreviations.
• Phrases are automatically searched with implied proximity operator.
• Post-processing table and report tools that accommodate patent graphics, substance information, numerical data, and other key data fields.
